We are a Belgian start-up developing a brand new modular driveline for heavy dutry trucks which can be integrated in an existing truck.
Following our January 2025 homologation for Volvo truck repowering, we have successfully deployed our first repowered truck with a leading logistics company. Job Title: Truck Electrification Engineer
Location: Belgium
Role Description
As a Truck Electrification Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming our Diesel-to-Electric (D2E) repowering technology into a robust and scalable solution. Your work will focus on enhancing functional safety, reliability, and performance, ensuring our technology can be adapted across different truck brands. While primarily a VCU software challenge, variations in truck platforms require driveline adaptations to maximize transport efficiency.
This role is perfect for engineers passionate about electric mobility, sustainable innovation, and hands-on development in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Industrialize the D2E repowering process for heavy-duty trucks.
- Develop and validate electric drivetrains, HV/LV wiring harnesses, battery integration, and thermal management systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers and engineering partners to adapt the process for multiple truck brands and configurations.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations.
- Ensure vehicle conversions meet safety, performance, and homologation requirements.
- Create engineering documentation, including CAD drawings, BOMs, testing protocols, and manufacturing guidelines.
- Work closely with workshop teams during prototype builds and pilot conversions.
- Stay updated on latest technologies and regulations in EV and battery systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive, Electrical of Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in automotive engineering (product development or manufacturing), with a focus on electric driveline technology and battery systems
- Proficiency in the required tools: VCU Programming, Simulation, CANbus, …
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on attitude and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and homologation procedures is a plus.
- Experience with heavy duty trucks or even a truck drivers license would be great.
- Language skills: Fluent in English and Dutch (to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in Flanders).
